About Purna Vidya

Purna Vidya is a program that teaches the Vedic Heritage of the Indian subcontinent primarily to children of Indian origin, born and/or brought up away from their roots, as well as to children growing up in modern India.

It was created by Swamini Pramananda Saraswati and Sri Dhira Chaitanya, disciples of Swami Dayananda Saraswati.

The entire program spans 12 years, corresponding to the 12 years of school. It is taught in several cities in the USA and other countries, including India.

About Swami Dayananda Saraswati

“Growing up in modern India can be very confusing. The native forms of culture and religion are challenged by other forms reaching the children through the global media. They have to now choose. Without knowledge of the meaning of these forms, choosing is impossible.

Purna Vidya (Vedic Heritage Teaching Programme) provides a resource offering an insight into the vision of the Vedas and the vast literature and religious culture of India.”

About Purna Vidya – Columbus

The Central Ohio edition of Purna Vidya started in Feb 2001 with the Īśvara’s grace and Swami Dayananda Saraswati’s blessings! It started with one class (1st grade) and 20+ children and has continued its managed growth to 13 classes (K-12) with 140+ students at present. We believe in Quality over Quantity, and we look for committed families to join the program.

It is part of the Outreach program of the non-profit organization Arsha Vidya Pitham in Pennsylvania. See what you think and let me know if this meets your needs.
